One good way to know you are is if you always feel good
about going home. If you can’t wait to get home after a
long days work just to see his or her/his smiling face then
your relationship is probably a healthy one.

 

Two people in a healthy relationship experience less stress and are more capable of handling a stressful situation when one comes along. Know why? Because they have help, that’s why. The kinds of things that make a good relationship are effective communication, trust, mutual respect, being flexible when it counts and keeping everything real. If you have these things in your healthy relationship then you probably treat each other as equals and do not experience too many problems.

Communication in a healthy relationship is one of the most important factors to having that relationship being successful. Effective communication skills are not something everyone is born with, however, but they can be learned. If you are struggling with effective communication in your healthy relationship read on to learn some new techniques.

Learning effective, healthy communication techniques will help your relationship become healthy and happy and when that happens you are far more likely to remain in the healthy relationship instead of your marriage becoming just another statistic of divorce.

Healthy relationship Communication does not just mean talking. A very important part of communication is the ability to listen. Sometimes that is all that is needed, just to listen. Your spouse may just need a sounding board to be able to figure something out. If they need you to help fix something then after you listen carefully the two of you can try to come to some solution to whatever the problem is.

By keeping everything real I mean that you should not expect your spouse to do anything you would not do. Being in a healthy relationship is a two way street so do not expect more from your spouse than you are willing to put forth yourself.

I also cannot stress how important communication is in any healthy relationship. This is the basis for keeping things healthy. If you talk about your feelings then there can be no surprises and no one will ever get blindsided. If something comes up that may be a little difficult to talk about find the courage to talk about it. Otherwise it will just fester and soon the good relationship won’t be so good anymore.

Part of good healthy relationship communication skills is the ability to listen. Have the courtesy to remain silent when your spouse is talking, do not interrupt and do not try to fix it right away. If a fix is needed then figure it out together. Remain partners at all times.

Communication is very complex and includes verbal and non-verbal aspects. Effective communication relationship techniques involved all of them and knowing how to interpret them accurately. Take for instance, if someone is angry, they may glare at you and sit quietly with their arms crossed. This situation is something that needs your immediate attention.

If she is left to fester then she will begin to think that you do not care about how she feels and this will only make matters worse. Reading body language is a skill that you really should perfect. It can tell you so much about how a person is feeling or even if they are lying.

If you are a perceptive person then you can pick up a lot of effective communication techniques just by paying attention to what is going on around you. If you need some help then you can attend a communication class at your local community college. This will cost a little bit of money but may be worth it’s weight in gold if it helps save your healthy relationship.

Disagreements happen. No one is perfect. Handling them with dignity and grace is important. Do not attack your spouse but do not be a doormat either. If you have done something wrong apologize and then work together to learn how to get past it. Having the ability to forgive and forget also is key to keeping a relationship healthy. Do not, under any circumstances throw things back in each others faces. If you gave forgiveness once then let it go and move on.

Show love and genuine concern for your spouse. Be there for each other to lean on. I have found that a healthy relationship does not mean that each of you is strong at all times. When one of you isn’t then the other one must be and vise versa. This is what committing yourself to another person is all about.

Obviously being faithful is also part of having a good relationship. If you have committed yourself to someone have enough respect for yourself and them to remain faithful and do not go pandering about with someone else. This is the worst thing you could do in any relationship and one of the biggest reasons why relationships fail.
These things are all what a healthy relationship is all about.

Understanding is also another aspect of communication that can remain underdeveloped. What I mean by underdeveloped is that not enough questions get asked in any given situation. We assume we know what they other is talking about without clarifying. Assumptions only get you into trouble. So make sure you know exactly what is going on. If you don’t completely understand then ask questions until everything is clear.

My advice, practice, practice, practice. Learn the techniques of an effective communication healthy relationship and then practice them daily. Soon they will be second nature and you won’t even have to think about them any more.

To work at your marriage effectively you need to talk about things.  When you leave things without talking about them then there can be many misconceptions or misunderstandings.  Each partner looks at things from their own perspective and doesn’t really know how the other person feels.  They may misinterpret things that are said or done because of the way that they are thinking.  You need to talk to each other and listen to one another and try to see things from the other person’s point of view.  Good communication is essential to saving a marriage.

You love each other once and that love is probably still there, buried beneath the stress of life’s problems.  You get caught up in the day to day running of life that you let love slip by.  You spend all your time working, paying bills, running the kids around and you just don’t have enough time to spend with each other.  When you first get married you don’t think of the future and all the extra, stressful things that will come into your life.  Although marriage may not be exactly as you imagined it, you can work toward getting that fairy tale marriage back.

First you need to talk about the problems in your marriage.  Tell each other how you perceive what is happening and how you feel about it.  Take the time to really listen to your partner and try to understand how they are feeling.  By talking about things you can clear up any misconceptions or misunderstanding.  Next you need to make a plan on how to save your marriage.  Sort out finances by making a budget and sticking to it.  Schedule a time in your week for you to spend time together.  Start dating again, once a week go out for dinner or go to a movie or just go for a walk down the beach.  It doesn’t matter what you do, as long as you are doing it together.  Eat dinner together as a family at the dinner table and not sitting on the sofa watching TV.

You can’t just go on as you are hoping for some miracle to happen to save your marriage.  You need to make changes in your life and start to work on saving your marriage.  If you really want your marriage to work you can save marriage if you put in the effort.

We sometimes think that all people will like the same things or you may think that because you like something your partner will like it too. It isn’t always the case though so you need to get to know what your partner likes.

Your spouse might not be interested in reading books but you could still have a read and see what you think. However, it takes two people to save a relationship and the relationships wife cannot do it all on her own. Having said that, sometimes if you begin to make an effort that effort will rub off on the husband and he will respond by putting in an effort himself.
